Echinopsis maximiliana Heyder ex A.Dietr. Maximiliana; , named after Maximiliaan A. Ph. prince von Wied-Neuwied (1782, Neuwied; 1867, Neuwied), who made a natural scientific journey through Brazil from 1815-17 and through the United States from 1832-34. He wrote some scientific publications about his journeys.
